Beanie Sigel In Car Accident

Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel was injured in a car accident last night, reps say. Representatives for Sigel maintain a large tractor trailer truck ran his vehicle off the road.  Sigel was not the driver of the car and sustained injuries. The full breadth of those injuries is unknown, as is the exact location of the accident. De Mos Offish will continue to offer developments on Beanie Sigel's status.

Brittany Murphy Dies At Age 32

Brittany Murphy died last night after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived.

She was 32. The Los Angeles City Fire Department said they received a call to a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack.

No Charges For Lil Wayne!!

After being held by the U.S. Border Patrol yesterday in Texas, it looks like Lil Wayne will walk away free, according to his lawyer anyway. As reported yesterday, Weezy and 11 people in his entourage were held after drug dogs found two stashes of weed on his tour buses. The Border Patrol says Wayne and the others were questioned and charges are pending. Lil Wayne's lawyer said some people did receive citations but Lil' Wayne was not one of them.

The Laredo Entertainment Center, where Lil' Wayne was supposed to perform last night but didn't, now says he will perform there tonight to make up for the canceled show.

Nick Cannon Launches NCredible Entertainment

With acting, comedy and music already under his belt, it's obvious that Nick Cannon wants to do it all. He took it one step further on Tuesday, December 15, with the launch of his multi-media company NCredible Entertainment, which will house all of Nick's undertakings from film and movies to books publishing and radio.

Aside from NCredible Entertainment, Cannon was recently named Chairman of TeenNick, Nickelodeon's TV teen network and he'll soon be the voice of CBS Radio's 92.3 NOW morning show, come January 2010.

"Precious" Grabs Five Spirit Award Nominations

"Precious" is hot on the award season trail scooping up five Independent Spirit Award nominations yesterday, including nominations for best female lead for Gabourey Sidibe and best supporting female for Mo'Nique.

To be nominated for a Spirit, films should be at least 70 minutes long and have a budget of under $20 million and must have been screened at a major festival, like Sundance. The nominations could bring "Precious" one step closer to Oscar-mania.

Keyshia Cole Signs With Will.i.Am

Even with a baby on the way - Keyshia is keeping her career on track. Last month she dropped a dance track called "Acapella" and now she's announced that she's signed with Interscope Records via Black Eye Peas frontman, Will.i.Am's Music Group.

First Lady With 10 Grammys Nominations : Beyonce Knowles

Grammy nominations special would be big for Beyonce but we had no idea it would be this big. The multi-talented star led all nominees with 10 nominations, including Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year ("Halo") and Song Of the Year ("Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)").

While Bey earned the most nods, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) also honored Maxwell, Kanye West and hip-hop supergroup Black Eyed Peas with six nominations each. Other multiple nominees included Jay-Z and Lady Gaga, who both scored five nods.

The Grammys also recognized several urban music rookies who made their mark this year Ledisi, Drake, Kid Cudi, Melanie Fiona, Jazmine Sullivan and Keri Hilson all earned their first Grammy nominations.

Short shows off his chops in "Armored," opening tonight, playing Ty Hackett, a rookie armored truck driver who is coerced by a gang of veteran drivers into stealing $42 million from the Federal Reserve. Laurence Fishburne, whose character is one of the men leading Ty astray, has actually had a more positive impact on his young costar in real life.

While shooting "Armored," Short was offered the role of Little Walter, the legendary but troubled harmonica player in "Cadillac Records." It was such a meaty part that Short was having doubts about whether he could measure up. Fishburne convinced him to go for it.

"He told me I could do it, that it was in me", Short says. "It was some good advice that¹s still paying off. Instead of me being boxed into, 'Oh there's the guy from Stomp the Yard,' it was more of, 'This guy could have a real future in doing good work on screen.
