Looks like Prince is joining the long list of celebrities that are having problems with IRS.

According to Carver County tax records, Prince's PRN Music Corp. owes more than $227,000 for 2009 taxes to the state and other government bodies. PRN Music houses Prince's Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen. According to County taxpayer services manager Laurie Engelen, PRN Music and Prince's other properties owe an estimated $450,000 in taxes.

This casting call is open for anyone who is an aspiring model. It is primarily geared for young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 but all are welcome. Anyone below the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The hours of casting call will begin at 5:30 pm and end abruptly at 7:30pm.

Registration will be available between 4pm and 5:30 pm.

NAACP Image Awards 2010

 Last friday, NAACP had their 41st Image Award ceremony. Among the winners was Tyler Perry, who gave a powerful speech after winning the Special Honoree Chairman's Award. Achieving new heights should be on the minds of all and Tyler Perry's faith in himself and God has surely raised him to the top.

Along with Tyler Perry, other Special Honoree awards include the President's Award which was given to Van Jones, a pioneer in human rights and clean energy economy & author; and the winner of the Vanguard Award was Wyclef Jean, Grammy Award-winning songwriter/musician/producer, humanitarian, Goodwill Ambassador to Haiti, and founder of Yéle Haiti.

The main awards were given to actors/actresses, directors, writers, artists, television and movies. Winners included Gabourey Sidibe from Precious, Mary J Blige, Steve Harvey's Act Like A Woman Think Like A Man, Jada Pinket Smith for "HawthoRNe" and The Mo`nique Show.

White Sorority Step-Off Win Causes Controversy!

Should a White sorority be allowed to win a historically Black step competition? The judges of the Sprite Step-Off Challenge think so. The girls of Zeta Tau Alpha, a predominantly White sorority from the University of Arkansas beat out five other teams to win the coveted prize of $100,000 at the national Sprite Step-Off competition last weekend.

The issue has since caused so much uproar that Sprite recounted and called a tie between ZTA and Alpha Kappa Alpha's Tau chapter, a Black sorority. Both teams will now be going home with $100K prize. While the issues surrounding the judging of the competition are debatable (we may never know why Sprite decided to call a tie after all) we shouldn't be surprised that Black Greek traditions, much like African American culture overall continue to evolve into mainstream culture.
